The first vines on Bindi vineyard were planted in 1988 by vigneron Michael Dhillon and his father Bill. The family farm, purchased in the 1950s in the Macedon Ranges, today plays home to some of the country’s most precious Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines.
A deep connection to family and place underpins everything that vigneron Michael Dhillon does. His fastidious vineyard management and precision in the winery has seen his label rise over the years as some of the leading examples of Australian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, setting a new benchmark for all Australian producers to strive for.
The wines of Bindi have been heralded the world over for their rare power and clarity. They now find pride of place in some of the world’s most discerning cellars. These are collectable, cellar-worthy wines that showcase the unique character of one of Australia’s great vineyard sites.
96 Points James Halliday
Oak provides a modest spruce, but fruit, spice, tannin and a pure line of acidity all work here towards something wonderful. Complex flavours run along precisely drawn lines; tannin taps at the edges with the touch of a watchmaker.
