Since 1996, Jérome Dehours has given life back to this beautiful 14 hectare estate in the Marne Valley in Champagne. Inspired by the great Anselme Selosse, Jérome started with organically-grown vineyards by way of expressing each of the magnificent terroirs he has at hand. The Domaine predominantly produces Pinot Meunier, a varietal best suited to this cooler area of Champagne, but also Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Champagne connoisseurs seek out the Dehours Champagnes to find the renowned Meunier style; bold and flavourful with a clear terroir-orientated approach.
Blend of 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2017 vintages. Disgorged June 2019
94 Points Antonio Galloni
The Extra-Brut Perpetual Reserve Lieu Dit La Croix Joly is 100% Meunier, based on 2017, with reserve wines from 2015 to 2013. Light skin contact and vinification in oak work so well here as Meunier on this sandy site seems to be ideally suited to this approach. Hints of spice, ginger and dried flowers lend notable complexity throughout. Time in the glass brings out a range of exotic floral and spice notes that are so alluring. This is an absolutely exquisite wine from Dehours.
